High Impact PP Compound | Toughness-Modified Polypropylene | Izod 400-800 J/m
High impact polypropylene compounds with superior toughness. Izod impact 400-800 J/m. For automotive, appliances, and structural applications requiring cold-temperature impact resistance.
Problem & Solution
The Problem
Standard PP has low impact strength (2-4 kJ/m² notched Izod), causing brittle fracture in cold temperatures and demanding applications. Parts crack during transport, assembly, or end-use, especially below 0°C.
Our Solution
Our high impact PP compounds use advanced elastomer toughening technology (EPR, EPDM, OBC) to achieve 400-800 J/m notched Izod impact strength, with ductile-brittle transition below -30°C. Maintains toughness from -40°C to 80°C operating range.
Technical Specifications
Key Advantages
Notched Izod impact: 400-800 J/m
Ductile behavior at -40°C
Brittle-ductile transition < -30°C
Tensile strength: 20-28 MPa
Flexural modulus: 900-1400 MPa
Excellent moldability and flow
Applications
Technical Advantages
Temperature range: Maintains ductile fracture behavior from -40°C to +80°C, far exceeding the -20°C limit of standard PP.
Cold chain ready: Essential for cold-storage, freezer containers, and winter logistics applications where temperatures drop to -30°C.
Lightweight: 15% lighter than ABS or PC/ABS, reducing material cost per part and transportation weight.
Cost-effective: Achieves 400-600 J/m impact at ~30% lower cost than PC/ABS alternatives, with similar performance.
